It's a mystery series set on the high seas at the end of the 19th century. An entire cruise ship disappears four months before our protagonists set sail from Europe on their own trip to New York City. There's a broad cast of characters and everyone seems to hold a secret. Things get stranger with each turn, and as you hope questions will begin to get answers, even more mysteries appear. Co-creators  Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar were tapped by Netflix to bring this series to life after their last project Dark. Pro tip: Don't watch the dubbed version. Stick with subtitles as needed.

Ah the '90s when everything was EXTREME, including the advertising. And of course, one of the most extreme ad campaigns was "Drink Pepsi, Get Stuff," where purchasers could collect points to redeem for prizes ranging from sunglasses to leather jackets. But one slipup at the end of its TV ad put the beverage giant on the defensive about a joke prize — a military harrier jet. The Netflix docuseries follows the story of John Leonard, a college student, who noted the lack of disclaimers on the commercial and proceeded to come up with the needed seven million Pepsi points to win that jet, something the soft drink company would, of course, push back against, leading to the landmark court case Leonard v. Pepsico. Anyway, it was a weird time.

Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds star in this modern retelling of A Christmas Carol. The new take on the Charles Dickens’ classic will surely put viewers of all ages into the Christmas spirit and is a great watch to kick off the holiday season. Of note, this marks Ferrell’s first Christmas movie since his iconic role as Buddy the Elf in Elf.

What better way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday than to gather around the TV and watch Tower Heist. It seems very fitting given the fact that the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade plays a major role in the film's plot. The film starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller follows a group of workers at a fancy Central Park condo as they plot to steal their money back from a bad investor in an epic heist. It's full of holiday feels and laughs so feel confident when your family asks for movie suggestions after dinner.

There is at least one scary movie for most major holidays, and the most well-known for Thanksgiving is Blood Rage from 1987. Don't expect a masterpiece, but this nasty piece of work begins with a Thanksgiving dinner from hell, and it only gets more twisted from there. It's got an evil twin, a desperate mother, night tennis, short shorts, and other assorted delights from the waning years of the slasher craze. Check it out, but don't make it a family affair. 

I don't think this one needs much of a description. Apple is now streaming the classic animated holiday special that debuted nearly a half-century ago. Follow the hijinks of Charlie Brown, his dog Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang as they find humor and meaning behind the festivities.

Whether you love Thanksgiving or just try to get through it, it's always nice to decompress a bit after the festivities. A great way to do that: Listening to the low-stakes drama of people you don't know and will never meet. In the hit podcast Normal Gossip, host and writer Kelsey McKinney retells listener-submitted stories to a comedian guest, getting hilarious reactions to already amazing stories, such as a feud from a school fundraiser and an adult kickball love triangle.
